Every year, the Chinese zodiac brings a new rhythm—a different tempo of life, change, and inner growth. As we prepare to shift from the introspective Year of the Snake to the dynamic Year of the Horse, I feel the resonance of this transition deeply in my bones.
This past year, the Snake has been my sacred teacher. True to its essence, it’s been a year of shedding. I’ve let go of old skins—layers of identity, relationships, and attachments that no longer fit. I moved abroad, not to escape, but to create space. Space to breathe. To heal my central nervous system from the constant hum of American urgency. To quiet my heart after my son’s relapse and our painful estrangement.
Now, in Mexico, I’ve found a peaceful rhythm again. The cobblestone streets, colorful walls, and slower pace mirror the calm within me. For the first time in a long while, I feel still. Rooted. Whole.
And yet—I can sense something stirring. The Snake’s work is nearly complete.
The Year of the Horse is approaching, and with it comes movement. Momentum. Passion.
As a Fire Horse myself, born in 1966, this transition feels like a personal homecoming. The Horse energy is my native element: wild, creative, untamed, and deeply intuitive. People often overlook the Horse’s sensitivity, but it’s this very attunement that allows it to sense the subtlest shifts in energy and emotion. Horses feel everything. They listen with their entire bodies. They move only when the time is right and the energy is aligned.
This sensitivity is not weakness—it’s sacred intelligence. It’s what makes the Horse both powerful and soulful, guided not by force but by flow.
This will be my fifth cycle through the Chinese zodiac, and I can feel the fire rekindling within me. My time of stillness is giving way to forward motion—a new expression of purpose and possibility. The Horse doesn’t wait for the perfect moment; it creates it.
As this new cycle begins, I’m preparing to take my work and spiritual practice to the next level—to share more, teach more, and create more. The time for healing has done its sacred work; now it’s time to live with renewed passion and presence.
A Reflection for You
As we move from the Snake’s introspection into the Horse’s energy of action, I invite you to take a moment for reflection.
Activity:
Find a quiet space and write in your journal:
- What “skins” have you shed this past year? (Habits, fears, identities, relationships, or stories that no longer fit.)
- What desires or dreams are now ready to take shape?
- If you had the Horse’s confidence and sensitivity—what would you gallop toward in 2025?
Let these answers guide your next inspired steps.
Because the Snake teaches us who we are becoming—and the Horse helps us become it.

As I lean into this new chapter, my deepest focus is on growing our Enchanted Empath Community—a sacred space for sensitives, intuitives, and healers to grow together. We gather online for readings, rituals, classes, book club, and community. If you’re ready to strengthen your intuition, deepen your practice, and ride this wave of Horse energy with kindred souls, I’d love to welcome you.
May this transition be your moment to ride with courage, trust your fire, and move freely toward the life that’s calling you.
Yippee ki yay.
